Position Title: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Position Scale: FULL TIME 32-40 hours

Scheduled Days: Varies (Monday - Sunday)

Position Call Type: BLS TRAFFIC / LIVE FIELD

Requirements:

Must have an excellent driving record, good work history and be current with all state certifications. You must be CPR certified and be able to submit and pass a criminal background examination and drug testing. Familiarity with Dialysis Transportation and or patients is preferred but not a requirement. You must be able to perform heavy lifting and working with disabled as well as obese Patients is a requirement for this posting.

Applicant will be working mostly Scheduled BLS Call's working with patients whom meet the eligibility requirements to be transferred by ambulance to an from specialized destination points such as Dialysis, Chemo Therapy, Physical Therapy ect.  While most calls for this specific position are regular reoccurring scheduled calls, all applicants must be proficient with their skills and be able to handle EMERGENT transferees as well, providing superior service in a calm manor, with proper execution and documentation.

All employees working in the field responsible for the safe execution and transportation of all Patients. Patients may live in homes with restrictive layouts and require special handling to insure safe movement. United EMS is committed to providing excellent service. As an employee of United EMS - Staff members are responsible for maintaining a zero tolerance policy against complaints or miss handling of patient transfers. United EMS is strict in proper execution of safe delivery services and well written and prepared patient care reports.

This individual will routinely transport specialized patients to and from their outpatient service center. Each patient must be presented on time in the safest manner possible and be comfortable with the service provided. This applicant will be required to work between 8-12 hours per day. Employees are Scheduled as to their Start Time and their Days Scheduled to work with an "ESTIMATED" Shift end time. Employees are expected to completed all calls and be cleared to end their shift. EMT'S/DRIVERS must be able to lift (Safely) patients up to 300lbs with a manual stretcher, though United EMS has deployed "PowerPoint XT" series stretchers for normal transfer activity.

Scheduled Shift Times (B): Varies (General 12:00PM - 8:00PM Wednesday & Friday)                           

Position : Maintenance Services / Fleet Mechanical Maintenance

Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation to and from work, schedule is flexible for shift arrangements. 3rd Shift preferred but seconded shift is possible. Employee must have a clean driving record and a Valid Indiana Drivers (Passenger Vehicle) License to move and park ambulances prior and after maintenance and washing. Applicant must be at least 18 Years of age. Applicant must be able to pass both a Pre-Employment State & Federal Criminal Background Check and a Drug Test 24-Chem Panel.

Applicant will be responsible for general Maintenance & Repair of all Fleet vehicles including a fleet of Diesel and Gasoline Mixed Ambulances.

This individual will perform routine maintenance to Fleet Vehicles and Ambulances as provide mechanical engineering knowledge. This position will also require office management operations, the use of a computer with an excellent understanding of Microsoft office systems such as Excel, Word, Access and Share Point. Must know how to use spread sheets and formulate data elements. Must have previous experience with employee scheduling and managing a small crew of porters. Must have good organizational skills and work neatly and safely. Requires maintaining of service books and service record to all vehicles and will require excellent documentation skills.

United EMS has a fleet of 15 ambulances stored in a 15,000 sqft Garage (Climate Controlled) in it's main location in Cedar Lake, IN as well as a 9,500 sqft Office space and 12,000 sqft Dispatch Center. All areas will require the attention of the Porter, the Porter is entrusted with the securing of such areas while in line of duty maintaining such areas. United also operates a leased space with Office and Garage Mixture of 12,500 sqft in Starke County, In (KNOX).

This position will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection , care and repair of all vehicles including the entire staff of ambulances. This position will also require Porter skills and will be responsible for the Interior/Exterior cleaning and Maintenance of all fleet vehicles which were paced into service with-in the past 48 hours or require maintenance.

Exterior Maintenance will consist of soft scrubbing the exterior surfaces of the vehicle with brush able soap/water combination fluid, Power Washing and Power rinsing the exterior surface. The washing & drying of all glass and window surfaces, and polishing soft surfaces. Degreasing and bug removal of front guards and front corner struts where service is needed.

Interior Maintenance will consist of vacuuming cabin and Patient Compartment floors, dusting dash and cluster areas, soft/damp wiping switch consoles, cleaning of all glass surfaces, wet moping of the Patient Compartment floor when necessary, detailed cleaning and wipe down of all interior surfaces where necessary. restocking of Linens, onboard hand sanitizer, Kleenex and emptying the trash of each vehicle.

The Service Manager is a Department head position.

The following experience is required.

  • Diesel Repair
  • Flex Fuel and Gasoline Repair
  • AC/Recover, Recycling and Repair, knowledge of Automotive A/C systems
  • Basic Electrical Knowledge
  • Large and Midsized Motor Repair
  • Previous Experience working on Ambulances is a Plus but not required
  • ASE Certified
  • Scheduling and Costing Experience
  • Basic Accounting and budgeting Experiences
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Skills
  • Basic Office and Computer Skills
  • Experience keeping Maintenance Logs and Records with such Documentation
  • Clean Driving Record with a Valid Indian License
  • Clean Back Ground State/Federal
  • Professional Appearance
  • Abel to provide detailed reporting on the fly and reflective to Board Members monthly
  • Provide Maintenance and Basic Upkeep
